Hello everyone,
There has been so much vegan happenings in our area that it has been hard to keep abreast of all the exciting events.
Here is a list of planned meetups and other activities that are of interest to our Veg community:
- Saturday, May 7th 10am - Whole Foods Vegan eating tour- This is full, but if you'd like to participate in another vegan tour drop me an email. Whole Foods has graciously offered to do another tour. Also, I am still collecting input regarding Alfalfa's and have a meeting with the their team early next week. Let's give them advice on how to cater to our community and make vegan options available for all their customers. Keep sending me input. http://www.meetup.com/coloradovegans/events/17332546/
- Saturday, May 7th 5pm-8pm, The Great Food Truck Race comes to Denver. Of course I could care less about this kind of event unless there would be a Vegan Van involved and there is! Meet Seabirds Vegan Food Truck! For some reason this is very secretive (perhaps it plays up the tv show?) so all I know is that Seabirds will be planted in front of Sweet Action Ice cream from 5pm-8pm on Saturday. If you haven't been to Sweet Action they have a really tasty vegan ice cream in addition to their cow's milk not nice cream.
Some info on the contest and the Seabird Van:

- Sunday, May 8th 10am-3pm Udi's Mothers Day Brunch buffet with Vegan options: Udi's has really hit a home run with their once a month Vegan Mondays so I assume this will be a delicious meal as well. Be aware that they will also have their regular fare so this is not a Vegan only menu. Please call Udi's directly to make a reservation. It is likely they will fill up, so call soon.

- Saturday, May 14th, 8:30 am, Applebees in Boulder, Community Cycles Vegan Pancake breakfast fundraiser- Only $7 bucks and it supports a great local organization doing important work in developing a bike culture for Boulder and beyond. http://www.meetup.com/coloradovegans/events/17534278/
After breakfast some of us will be heading down to Denver for the following march that is expecting thousands of attendees. I plan on leafleting the crowds and would love some help if anyone is interested. Leafleting is fun and a vital way to plant seeds of peace and non-violence and this is a "low hanging fruit" crowd.
- Saturday, May 14 DENVER iMatter March! We Must March For Our Future! - iMatter Kids-vs-Global-Warming a youth led Campaign. How do we send a message that is so loud that everyone will take notice? How do we get our leaders to halt in their tracks and take action to stop climate change? Join us and 1,000's of people in Cuernavaca Park in Denver, Colorado at 12:00 noon. We will join with youth, parents, grandparents, schools, organizations, green businesses, churches and friends in cities all across the country and all around the world. Sign-up to march in Colorado and get detailed information at www.iMatterColorado.com. Sign-up to march anywhere else in the world at www.imattermarch.org
- May 21st Vegan Potluck gathering with special guests Rae Sikora http://www.meetup.com/coloradovegans/events/ I thought I was going to be able to have this in a park and not limit numbers but Rae requested an indoor setting for her presentation so we will have this at my clubhouse. This will definitely fill up so RSVP early if you want to join us. Rae is one of the most inspiring and hopeful speakers I know. Rae is someone who embodies Veganism as not just a diet, but a life. This is a rare and special opportunity to learn with one of the Vegan movements "elders"- i mean that in a wisdom, not age way(;
I'd like to have another movie/potluck evening with several great videos I have hold of. Anyone out there want to host this gathering? Need room to fit 10-12 folks and a TV with a DVD player. email me if you would like to host.
Also, does anyone want to host a potluck gathering during the summer months?
I know I sound like a broken record when I say this but here goes again: There has never been an easier, more delicious and more urgent time to make Vegan choices and to let others know why you are making those vegan choices. Our finned, feathered and furried friends are waiting for us. All life on earth is waiting for us. If you are not yet vegan, what are you waiting for? That is not a rhetorical question- if you aren't yet Vegan what are the blocks and how can this community help you in the transition? Just let us know and an army of vegan love warriors are at your beckon call- well, I am anyway(;
OK, that's all for now. As always, call or email with input, ideas, meetup suggestions....anything at all.
Peas and peace on all our plates,
