Scratchings-and-Sniffings

Seeking Holiday Pet Photos for our Sliding Photo Puzzle Game

Posted: 08 Dec 2009 05:37 PM PST

BarkingNews Check out this great new game I found online (actually, Donna DeClemente from Donna's Promo Talk showed it to me). In fact, look what she made with it - this neat photo puzzle of her dog, Shadow, who now needs your help in putting him back together.

We thought we'd have a little fun with this and get into the holiday spirit by asking YOU to submit a holiday photo of YOU and YOUR PET, or just your pet, that includes a holiday look and feel. We're asking you to post your photo on the wall of our Scratchings and Sniffings Facebook page.

We'll choose one photo a week from now till the end of the year and make a new photo puzzle that we'll post here on this blog as well as on our Facebook page. We'll also include your non-scrambled photo to be our Facebook Fan of the Week, which will become our profile picture for the same week that we launch the photo puzzle.

How fun is that? C'mon. I know you want to have some fun with your kitty cat and your doggie dog, this holiday season. The more the merrier, as they say. Hop over to the S&S Facebook Fan page, and join us in celebrating this season.

If you haven't been there yet - hop over and become a fan. It doesn't cost anything to have a Facebook account. YOU and your pet could be the next one everyone tries to "put back together" and wish all of us a Happy Holiday like Shadow has done. Of course, you'll want to share with your friends and family, won't you? (I would!) Plus, you'll be our Fan of the Week and get to have your pet's pic up there for the world to see, in the Scratchings and Sniffings profile.

We're just getting started...stay tuned for more Brain Games.

I'm a Fan, Are You?

Yvonne Sometimes I just can't help sharing great information about pets and pet people. I'm a fan of entrepreneurship and Lisa Taron, a friend I met online, via this blog, btw, is a great entrepreneur. She does something so great I can't help sharing it with you. She is a Founding Director of Heritage Makers, a company that can publish a book about YOUR dog.

Lisa was there for me when my daughter's precious Reznor (the dog in our header) had to go over the Rainbow Bridge, and again when my precious Carmie made her trip. Lisa doesn't just support pet people in mourning, she supports all pet people and she is ... "looking for folks to join her Team" this month.

Her team is part of Heritage Makers. I am betting that's of interest to a number of you. This is a growing online-digital industry - part of the whole scrap-booking wave, I think. I don't know that much about it. I only know they do quality work. The book Lisa sent me to give to my daughter was just as good as any book bought in a regular book store. My daughter and granddaughter loved it!

I know Lisa is just the person to discuss this idea with, if you're interested. Understand that I am endorsing the IDEA. I cannot openly endorse the company - but I know Lisa and she's on the up and up, which makes me think the company must be on the up and up.

Lisa is also an illustrator. I'd be remiss not to mention that she has a fabulous children's book which sheThree-Grin-Salad is offering at a discount, for the holiday. The book is Three Grin Salad - A Kid's Recipe for a Happy and Healthy Life. Hmm...happy and healthy, exactly what we recommend at this blog for your cat and dog, too! I see the girl on the cover has a dog, too! But, of course!

Anyway, the book looks wonderful, and you can contact Lisa about it, if you're interested. It's sold out of Canada, but Lisa will send you a copy if you want one in the US. Contact her for details. (p.s. she'll even sign the book for your child - how kewl is that?)

There are a LOT of fabulous companies who produce wonderful pet products, and I couldn't write about them all no matter how hard I tried. I do try to mention the ones that are interesting and unusual, when I can. That's why I'm talking about Lisa Taron now. That and because I know her. I trust her. She'll do right by you.

Enjoy.
