RMJfA- Two dogs need emergency foster care

Sunday, August 14, 2011
Hello All,

I have been asked to help with a very sad situation. A good friend of mine contacted me and asked me if I could help find someone to foster or adopt 2 dogs who have been left behind in this world, in the most sad way. They belonged to the son of a friend of my friend who committed suicide yesterday morning. My friend is trying to help her friend in this time of great loss. My friend has dogs and cats of her own and is coping with 1 of them being incurably ill, so she can't take them in. Her friend (the mom of the doggies dad) has a dog who doesn't get along with 1 of her son's dogs, besides the fact that she is understandably overwhelmingly devastated so she can't take them. The dog mom has, she actually adopted from her son, who rescued her, because she was disagreeable with his dog and couldn't stay with him. They have no family close by.

If any one of you can at least foster these poor doggies until my friend and her friend can get through the funeral and taking care all of his things, so they have time to try to think and look for a home for the dogs, that would be wonderful. I feel so sad for dogs who are left behind in these situations. Their whole world is going to be turned upside-down.

Their names are Bear and Clover.

Bear is a neutered 7 year old pure Saint Bernard. He is a bit leery of men, but is capable of warming up to love and kindness, as he loved his daddy very much.

Clover is a sweet, gentle, spade German shorthaired pointer mix. My friend thinks she is about 3 or 4 years old.

I don't know about vaccinations on either of them, but if they need them, I will be happy to help by paying for it.

They are looking into a sanctuary, but that will take awhile to find and for transport, but these babies need caring for locally at the moment, if possible, at least temporarily.

If you have room to foster them, that would be wonderful. If you are looking for 2 dogs who are in need of a loving forever home, that would be even better.

Please contact me via personal email and let me know.

If you can't take them, but have any suggestions of places that you know of personally that might help, I would like to know about them as well.

Thank you so much,

Ann

See you there!

Think of me tonight, for that which you savor.
Did it give you something real, or could you taste the pain of my death in its flavor?
