Hi Paul!I was just curious if you were planning to have any vegan food at your upcoming summer event. I know that Sweet Action ice cream makes some awesome vegan ice cream. Will any of that be available? I think it would also be very easy for Pasta Jay's to do some vegan items as well. The meat and dairy industries are such a drain on the environment as the EPA and USDA web sites will tell you, plus they are competing with wildlife for resources. It would make so much sense to have an event serving plant-based food that is more in line with your values. All of the events organized by the Prairie Dog Coalition are vegan and the food is always fantastic and easily doable. As for your event: Pasta Jay's already has a Pasta Margherita: Fresh tomato and sweet basil sauteed in olive oil with roasted peppers and garlic, served over linguini. So that is basically vegan. I'm sure if you told the restaurants you are working with what your ideas are ,they would be happy to accommodate you. Or perhaps next year when you are looking for sponsors, you could look toward restaurants that already have a number of vegan options and that would make it easier, too.Just some suggestions to make what I'm sure will be an excellent event even more excellent, cruelty-free, and environmentally friendly. If you ever have any questions, let me know.... :>Sincerely,Kellie
So shines a good deed in a weary world.
