RMJfA- Re: death of a vegan friend

Tuesday, July 26, 2011
Lynee',

I found your post on-line while searching for more information about
Matt. My son was his student last year and I just received a letter
from the school district regarding his death. I found Matt to be one
of the most interesting teachers and role models for a 7th grade group
of kids. Like me, he stood for animals, veganism, and being outspoken
about what truly matters.

The letter states that a service will be held in Canada, but some of
his family will be in town to accept cards and well wishes. I don't
know any more about his passing, but know that he will be missed.

Kindly,
Katie Detmer
