Subject: FW: Maddy - the beautiful Aussie Shepherd dog
Hello friends,My stepfather, who lives north of Salt Lake City, sent me the following email about his dog, Maddy. Sadly, he has concluded that he needs to find a better home for her than he can provide. I told him that I would send out a message to all my dog-loving friends and acquaintances to see if, through email "word of mouth", we could find the right adoptive family for her. Please forward this email to anyone you know that might be interested in adopting a very sweet Australian Shepard. Inquiries can initially be sent to me and I'll forward them on and put the parties in contact with one another. Thanks for forwarding this message and please accept my apologies for the mass email.
Best,Shelley DunbarMobile 303-888-2806Need to find a good home for Maddy:Maddy is a beautiiful 3 year old female Australian Shepherd. It breaks our hearts to have to have her adopted, but our "snowbird" situation makes her winters less than ideal. We want what is best for her, so thanks for your interest and any ideas that you might have.
She likes to have the ball you see her with in the picture, almost to a fault. She will get the ball if you throw it to her, but won't bring it back to you until she is ready. She is housebroken, and actually has her dog run "broken" too. I usually walk her on a leash for a mile a day, and she is very obedient in that setting. She will sit, lay down, and stay, but off her leash, she won't readily come to you if you call her, as we haven't trained her much for this. She will stay in our home area, which includes a large pasture with horses. She is free to run in that space. Her dog run is next to a dog run with a yellow lab. They aren't in the same run, but interact daily. We also have a Yorkie and a Shitzu that are house dogs, and she has daily contact with them, with no problem.
We have a large lot in the mountains, that we take our 5th wheel trailer for the summer. She is off leash while we are there, and is well behaved and stays nearby. She can be protective of us there and lets us know if moose are around, or other campers. She likes to run alongside me while riding my ATV. She is warm and loving, which makes it hard to let her go, but she needs more than we can offer in the winter while we are away.
Maddy (Matilda) is spayed, and has current shots. She has had her summer haircut 6 weeks ago. She is a delightful, beautiful lovable dog. She needs a GOOD LOVING HOME. I can send other photos at your request, but want to get started with this exposure. I won't consider a "lock up" life for her. Hopefully we can be successful in this quest.Love,Dad
