The U.S. Department of Agriculture has announced the finalists in its Recipes for Healthy Kids contest! Please vote to encourage the USDA to include a tasty, healthy new recipe on school lunch menus across the country. Vote for Tasty Tots in the vegetable category. This recipe is low in fat and cholesterol-free, and voting for it will help ensure that students across the country have access to healthy vegan options in the lunch line. Bellingham Public Schools in Bellingham, Mass., submitted Tasty Tots, a kid-friendly alternative to traditional tater tots. The secret? Sweet potatoes instead of white potatoes, and chick peas as the binder. Please vote to get this delicious, healthy recipe into lunch lines! Voting ends May 31, 2011. Thank you!
