In some respects that trip was even harder, but it was well worth it. What a great pet blogger conference. I learned a ton of new information and met a bunch of really interesting people. All the presentations were full of great information about blogging and it was really nice to meet people in person that you know from the blogosphere. I particularly enjoyed the last presentation of the day by Elisa Camahort Page, the co-founder of BlogHer. I sat with Elisa at breakfast and we had an interesting conversation. I didn't even know who she was at the time but I remember thinking, "This is one smart woman." She really brought home the power of social media and how all of us, readers and writers, have the power to create positive change in the lives of pet lovers and pets. I loved listening to Natalie Malaszenko from Petco. She is really a great speaker and she has so much energy and so much to say. She gave me some great ideas on how to best connect with readers and I'll be using her thoughts in my posts from now on. My only regret is that BlogPaws was only a one day event. I had to choose between different sessions offered at the same time. Hopefully, next year it will be at least two days and a little closer to home. It is really great to get away from the virtual world and into the actual world with real people and BlogPaws gave me that opportunity. Even better, this group was all about Pets. It was like spending the weekend with a bunch of soul mates. Congratulations to Tom, Yvonne and Caroline for a really good and interesting time. |
