Yes, you too can be part of Be The Change: Here's How Posted: 12 Apr 2010 01:10 PM PDT
YOU can participate, no matter where you live or what you do. If you blog, you can learn how to be the change that helps save lives and improve living conditions for neglected or homeless pets. In fact, at the conference, our Be The Change panel, who created the great video you saw here yesterday, also came up with the "crazy" idea of helping the BlogPaws attendees make a difference in the life of some needy dogs and cats by creating a "Be the Change Challenge." Jessica (otherwise known as Dr. V), Dorian and Lynn are going to hold a PawPawty this weekend - where the proceeds will go to Pets Without Parents, in Columbus, OH. That's where the conference was, of course. And Pets Without Parents is one of the shelters we gave a donation to, at the close of the conference. VERY deserving! Their people were in attendance and they were over the moon about being chosen. No doubt this great endeavor will benefit our friends and homeless pets at Pets Without Parents as much as BlogPaws did! All because people care! I know you care. I bet you care enough to participate, too! It's definitely possible. Here's the scoop - and it's no poop! For bloggers: Friday the 16th of April is designated as "Be the Change" Blog Post Day. Please post about how you make the grade, about how you will be the change in your hometown, about how you can contribute. Share your stories and thoughts. Be the change in whatever big or small way you can, and post about for all the online anipals.
Jessica says it best, "The coolest thing about this conference [BlogPaws]... was the whole idea that not only is this grassroots individual type action considered acceptable, it is the otpimal way to do things on this network build of individuals. We are building this sparkly little Charlotte's Web of connections one strand at a time in order to create something beautiful." Wow. Who doesn't want to be a part of that? I know I do! Oh, note that Jane from Petfinder had a hand in this. She's all about helping shelters and needy animals. Visit Petfinders and learn more. And btw - most of my pets have been shelter dogs and cat, or adopted out of a neighbor's home. We love our shelter pets so much! |
