Purina Incredible Dog Challenge Posted: 04 Apr 2010 01:17 PM PDT Anyone who knows me knows I am in love with the Purina Incredible Dog Challenge. Mostly I've seen the dogs on the David Letterman Show, but I have seen a number of videos of them online. They're pretty incredible when you think about it. They really go all out to please their masters and it's pretty clear their masters are also smitten with them! Turns out there's an Incredible Dog Challenge coming to an area near you if you live in St. Petersburg near Spa Beach Park. This Incredible Dog Challenge will involve competing on the waterfront, for agility, flying disc, Jack Russell hurdle races, head-to-head-60-weave pole and....dog diving, a crowd favorite. I'm partial to the flying disc competition, but a lot of other people, so they say, prefer the dog diving. (I wonder which ones the dogs would choose, if they had a choice? Hmmm...) Need more incentive to check this out? Watch the video below. It's fast-paced, but you get the picture. The competition at Spa Beach Park, St. Petersburg, is being held April 16th ...kicking off on Friday with the Purina Incredible Biathlon Swim Race (I know, you already knew it was "Purina" but they get touchy when I don't use what they consider appropriate language). Boy, do I wish I could be there to see that! This is a chance for all you St. Peterburgh's folks to see real athletic ability in dogs, and their trainers. You can view the events from 9:00 a.m. through Saturday the 17th, at 2:45 p.m. There are large dogs, small dogs, and relevant human folk, also. You'll just go for the dogs, though, right? I would. I know it's inspiring to see the trainers and owners gush about their fabulous dogs, but the dogs steal the show, hands down. I wonder, sometimes, if my Carmie might not have had some athletic talent. I didn't know about Purina Incredible Dog Challenge then. Maybe another time, with another dog.
