Bissell Pack of Pet Lovers - We're One! Posted: 14 Mar 2010 01:16 PM PDT It's clear that my pet blogger project, BlogPaws, is happening at the right time. The whole world seems to be tuned in to our pets and how we pet people love them as much as we love...all the people in our lives. Yep, pets are people. Case in point - Bissell, the vacuum cleaner company. They have a new community called "Pack of Pet Lovers" and you can see by the badge in our sidebar that we're members! We're delighted to be among the outstanding blogs Bissell has chosen to be part of their start-up pet community. They're very pet-friendly and even pet-focused in some ways. They let people bring pets to work (dogs mostly, I think - after all, who would bring their cat? Wabby would not want to go to work with me, if I worked out of the home - she loves her sofa and her bed!). Plus, over 70% of their employees own pets - higher than the national average, and every pet product has a different feature, special to its purpose. They say, "Bissell makes products that make it easy to clean up after pets." I like that, a lot. Here's another reason I think Bissell is unique and worth talking about - they recognize the needs we pet parents have to embrace our furry friends just as if they were kids, and we also have the same desire to keep our houses clean. Personally, and this is MHO, pets don't make a house any dirtier than kids do. However, they do make your house AS dirty as kids do! Hence, it's encouraging to see a company like Bissell, that gets the whole Mom thing (Moms are the ones who are most concerned about a clean house, c'mon, you know it)...realize now that homes come with furry kids as much as they come with regular kids. And, Moms want tools to help clean up after all the kids. I invite you to visit the Pack of Pet Lovers and get to know the pet bloggers. The list will be growing, I know that. With all the excellent, dedicated, devoted pet lovers and pet bloggers out there, we can expect to see this community become a big one. I'm thrilled to be in on the ground floor. A Bissell clean ground floor! (yes...we may get "free" product to test, occasionally; and Bissell may send us to events - to be the Bissell bloggers on the floor - but they are not asking us to DO anything, or write anything, or report on anything; they just want us to be what we are - now, that's how you run a pet community!)
