The other day I received a very interesting email from Joanne Wannan about a book she wrote called NEW LIVES: Stories of Rescued Dogs Helping, Healing and Giving Hope. I don't have the book but it's about 18 dogs who were shelter rescues and how they are performing miracles in animal therapy, today. Joanne mentions that, "It's the small local or shelters and organizations that are really struggling right now." (her bolding) Joanne wanted me to know about her experiences with shelters - and what she learned while writing this book. She learned how amazing animal shelters and organizations are, and how they are truly making a difference, in the lives of the rescued animals and the lives of the people who rescue the animals and the people who adopt them.
