Denver Dog Works

Yvonne-trans On Thursday, Tom and I met with a local dog trainer and behvioral consultant. Dr. Robert Forto lives and works right here in the Denver area. We originally met him on Twitter. Who says social media doesn't work?

One of the best things about Dr. Forto (Bob) is that he has his own Blog Talk Radio show: The Dog Doctor, and he's embraced social media tools to help him market his business online. We're are really impressed with not only his open approach to marketing, but his sparkling personality, and his clear devotion to dogs.

You'll be seeing him at BlogPaws and maybe he'll interview you on his show as he's going to do some live blogging via Blog Talk Radio, at the conference. His site is Denver Dog Works...take a look see, if you get a chance. Well worth your time. The Dog Doctor-Blog-Talk-Radio

Tom and I had a great time discussing how and why we got involved in social media and blogging, and how BlogPaws came to be. But, listening to Bob tell us his story was best. We're so impressed that he jumped into social media with both feet, recognizing that all these tools are connectors - and though they do take time and energy, the return is a hundredfold, if you use them as conversation starters, not broadcast advertising.

His wife, Michele, works with him, also...and that's appealing to us because...we work together, too! Seems like more and more husband/wife business teams are being created, because of the economy. With Bob, his behavioral training is of interest to us. We'll be wanting to tap into his experience and skill when we finally get a dog. (If you read Wabby's post a couple of days ago, she's not embracing the idea of another pet in the household but we think she'll come around.)

Another reason we're delighted to know Bob, now, is that he's been here for several years and he knows the pet events that we'll want to be a part of, going forward. As the weather warms up (it's in the minus digits these days - too brrrrrr!!!! for me!), Tom and I want to venture out to dog parks, and dog/cat events and do some "live" blogging for you.

Stay tuned! Now that we have a "guide" we're over the top excited! Plus, having Dr. Bob (can I call you that, Bob?) at the BlogPaws conference, doing his Blog Talk Radio show (check out this one with Fearful Dogs, another Twitter friend) with all the folks there, will give everyone who can't make it to the conference, feel like they really are there!

It doesn't get better than this. Woot!
