Hooray for 2010! BlogPaws Invites you... Posted: 04 Jan 2010 08:08 AM PST Happy New Year, all. We've been silent because...we've been working on a really big, exciting project. Something it's time to share with you. In a nutshell, Caroline of Romeo the Cat, and Tom, and I, are partnering on a new conference designed just for pet bloggers. You can learn all about it on our new site, BlogPaws, but let me explain a bit. Last year Tom and I met Caroline at Blogher. Blogher is the biggest women's blogging network online, and they've been holding a conference every year for 5 years. I've attended and spoken at many of those conferences, and I recommend Blogher on Lip-sticking a lot.   At last year's Blogher conference, I spoke on publishing (something I do in my 'other' life) and while there I met Caroline - to my delight. And, Caroline introduced me to a few other pet bloggers in attendance and the subject of how pet bloggers could get noticed by brands came up. After all, brands are IN LOVE with Mommy bloggers. We wondered why pet brands weren't more attentive to us. Hmmm.... Long story short, we thought a pet blogger conference was in order. A conference that would bring pet bloggers together to learn, meet, teach, network, and have a little fun. BlogPaws was born after much back and forth discussion between Caroline and Tom and myself. It's the first ever conference for pet bloggers. It's for people who are pet lovers and who write about their pets with the same passion and devotion the Mommy bloggers use in their blogs, when they write about their kids. It's for brands to get together with pet bloggers - because we are the people who buy what the brands' sell. You can learn more about us, about our story, and about our purpose on the site and the blog, and on Twittter. A major, major goal is to GIVE BACK. So, we will be donating to two shelters, out of sponsorship fees and attendee registrations - and attendees get to help us choose which ones. Going forward, BlogPaws will continue to engage with pet bloggers and brands, and work to give back to the pet community by supporting different shelters, throughout the year. That's what we're about. We're about you. We're about pets. We're about connecting brands to pet bloggers. And we're about giving back - the pets need us. We aim to deliver. You with us?
