101 Dalmatians Musical: Tanner

Yvonne In our on-going series of posts about the Purina sponsored musical, 101 Dalmatians, here's another bio of one of the shelter dogs in the show. Tanner is 5 years old. He's from a Rescue site SW of Virginia. Our thanks go out to them. And to all shelters, especially at this time of the year.

Don't you love this picture of Tanner? He looks playful and affectionate. Makes one want to run out and adopt him! The bio tells us that Tanner is one of the biggest and strongest Dalmatians in the show. He loves to take the trainers for a walk! LOL Sure reminds me of my Carmie - she's strong in my mind these days.101-dalmatians-musical-Tanner

Tanner was a stray when the local shelter found him. And, he tested positive for heartworms, something that can be expensive to treat. This meant he might be hard to adopt out. While many of us have good intentions, we also have thin wallets, these days. Adopting a dog with medical issues can be a tough decision to make.

But, Debi Smith from Dalmatian Rescue of Southwest Virginia took him in. He was treated for his heartworm condition, and now he's doing "great"... and he looks forward to those daily walks.

Let's all give Debi a round of applause. And be thankful for Tanner. I'm especially tuned in to these stories, btw, because my niece owns a Dalmatian. They are fabulous pets.
