I-better-check-this-blog-post It's not every day you come across a blog/site dedicated just to cats. Why is that? We know cats are the most regal animals in the animal kingdom - after all, weren't they worshipped as Gods by the Egyptians? Hey, those Egyptians obviously knew something we don't.

History has it that cats today KNOW about the previous adulation by the citizens of Egypt and hold the rest of us up to that standard, despite our resistence, at times. Certainly the resident cat in this household considers herself Queen of all she can see, or walk upon, or leave hairballs on (she left me one of those just this morning, on my bed; oh lucky me!).

Well, here's a fab site for cat pics: mmmeow! Yep, just that one work. Need we say more? I added the Queen Wabby's pic today (one of her proofing a blog post - she is so particular about those!) but there are pictures and videos on the site that will make your day brighter, sweeter, and more fun, so get thee over there and click about.

Who could resist this great pic? Giving-raspberries-to-Mom

Wikipedia, btw, says cats were not domesticated in Egypt, although we've believe that for years and years. They say a domesticated cat was discovered in 2001 in Cyprus, and a study in 2007 discovered that the "lines of descent of all house cat probably run through as few as five self-domesticating African Wildcats, in the Near East." According to the link on the Wikipedia page, "self-domestication refers to the process of adaption of wild animals to humans, without direct human selective breeding of the animals. The term is also used to refer to biological processes in the evolution of humans and human culture." (interested in the concept of self-domestication? Google has over 96,000 results for it - have at it)

If cats did self-domesticate, doesn't that prove they are more intelligent than we are? I mean, they saw a good thing and they acted on it. It took humans a whole lot longer to figure all that out. And, IMHO, we're still struggling with it! Not so our cats - they exist to be waited upon.

Oh yeah.

(p.s. don't tell Wabby, but this article says dogs did the same thing)
