For the Ladies - from Purina Cat Chow

Posted: 01 Sep 2009 07:32 AM PDT

Pandora I can't resist writing about this program from Purina's Cat Chow® brand. Wabby eats their Senior diet and has done very well on it. I also like their indoor formula, but that's not why I'm writing this post. This post is about breast cancer, and how Purina Cat Chow is involved in this endeavor.

At their website, Connected for the Cause™, the pet food brand is asking folks to take a quiz on breast cancer awareness. It's a worthy cause, a worthy task, and presents a worthy result. On the site, you can also add your photo (as a breast cancer survivor or the relative/friend of such) to be part of a Mosaic they've created. It's pretty impressive. At least, to me.

I wrote about this over on Lip-sticking, also, because it's a woman's issue. Truth is - it's a people issue, not just for women. While not a lot of men get breast cancer, some do. And, of course, the men in our lives support us women, when we're ill, whether with this devastating disease or just a cold.

The interesting thing is the way our cats react to us when we're sick. Women are sharing stories of how their cats nurture them (the best way cats can, by staying close by, licking our faces, purring inStories-of-hope-Purina-Cat-Chow our ears, and even giving us a good knead, now and then).

This program is part of the Susan G. Komen for the Cure partnership. You can even buy a pink pet food container - to keep your Cat Chow food in. I love it! Wabby will love it, too (she may not care about the color but she'll be eager for the contents!). If you purchase this container, Purina Cat Chow will donate an extra $3 to the program.

This is a great way to raise awareness and cash - for a much needed cause. But, don't take my word for it. Hop over to the site and read some of the stories. And then share with friends.
