| Another Rally to Rescue: Honoring Rescue Pets Posted: 24 Aug 2009 05:01 AM PDT
We're all for all rescue sites, here. We're for rescuing dogs and cats and birds and reptiles - if you read this blog regularly, you know that we write about rescue sites quite a bit. I've even written about Rally to Rescue, before. This year, Rally to Rescue is taking their show on the road. You can follow their progress on their website and add your voice, too. If you have a rescue dog, give a holler and tell us about him or her. Tell us the story - we all love stories. Here's the minute details, according to the online press release: "Through Oct. 30, pet lovers across the country can visit the Rally to Rescue site to view the 10 finalist pet rescue stories and help make one canine or feline a star, with their vote. (who know...they do cats, too!) The contest winner will be determined by a combination of a popular vote and judges score. The winning rescue organization, rescue pet and owner featured in the story will win a trip to the National Dog Show (w00t!!!) The pet Need some hints and ideas - here are some stories submitted from shelters around the country. And, stop over at this page to vote. Let's get behind this. As the press release says, "Smaller pet rescue organizations help place nearly half a million dogs and cats in homes each year and represent 45 percent of all pet adoption agencies." They deserve more than our applause - they deserve recognition and support. Glad to see Purina Pro Plan step up. |
