2nd Pets in Need Clinic Today

Posted: 25 Apr 2009 05:13 AM PDT

Tom and I are participating in the local Pets in Need Clinic started by veterinarian Michelle Brownstein out at Henrietta Animal Hospital. It's a small thing to do to give back to our pets in need.

We did a podcast about this back in March, when we attended the first one - see the podcast on PINC here - but today we are actually volunteering.

I know you all agree that Pets In Need Clinic is an outstanding idea, and a much need resource for our Pets-in-need-clinic-logo pets who are often left as penniless as their pet parents. After all, if you've lost your job, or you are living only on Meals on Wheels or on other subsidized support, it's ever harder to keep up the care of your beloved pet.

And yet, today, when times are so tough, pets need our help even more. They give us that unconditional love and support. They are there for us. They will go without if necessary. They will never leave us...the way some of our people friends might. It's so important to help people KEEP their pets. And, that's what this is all about. Can I hear a big cheer for Dr. Brownstein, please?

We'll have some pics and maybe some video to share later tonight. Meanwhile, think about this: you, too, can help. This idea needs to grow. The support of our pets in need is just as important as any other charity. We LOVE our pets, and so do the people who are unable to provide the proper care and feeding, due to circumstances out of their control. Stay tuned. Scratchings and Sniffings is going to work on this...and give you opportunity to join us in serving our pets in need, everywhere.
